Genetics
Is Georgia Pie indica or sativa? Its genetics and family tree
Georgia Pie is a hybrid, usually described as slightly indica-leaning, from a cross of Gelatti, a Cookies strain bred from Gelato and Biscotti, and Kush Mints, a cross of Bubba Kush and Animal Mints.1,2,3,4 Seed Junky Genetics bred it and Cookies marketed it; whether it is the same plant as Sticky Buns is disputed.2,5,6

The two parents
Gelatti is a hybrid of Gelato and Biscotti that Leafly says is hard to find outside California, like most strains from Cookies; Leafly rates it mostly calming and lists apple, pepper and floral flavors.3 Leafly’s 2023 column calls it a Cookie Fam creation that hits even more calming than Kush Mints or Georgia Pie.7 SeedFinder’s family tree also gives Gelato × Biscotti, though its description text names OG Biscotti and GSC instead.2
Kush Mints is a cross of Animal Mints and Bubba Kush that Leafly lists as 50% indica, 50% sativa and 28% THC, with menthol and mint flavors.4 Leafly’s strain page credits Mr. Nice Seeds, but Leafly’s 2022 profile of Seed Junky lists Kush Mints among the breeder’s results, and SeedFinder calls it one of Seed Junky’s flagship hybrids.2,4,14 Leafly’s editors include it among the 100 best strains of all time, and in The Marijuana Herald’s September 2026 rankings it was the top seller in Arizona.15,16
Georgia Pie or Sticky Buns? The accounts
Sources agree on the parents but not on the name. Sticky Buns comes from the same two companies and, in Weedmaps’ account, from the same cross.5,6
| Account | Who says so |
|---|---|
| Georgia Pie is another name for Sticky Buns, whose Cookies and Seed Junky Genetics version crosses Kush Mints with Gelatti; a second Sticky Buns, from Capulator, is GG4 × MAC | Weedmaps5 |
| Georgia Pie, “aka Sticky Buns” | SeedFinder’s entry for the Seed Junky original2 |
| Two strains: Georgia Pie (peach, apricot, tree fruit) and Sticky Buns, bred by Cookies and Seed Junky (nutty, vanilla, butter); neither page mentions the other | Leafly6,17 |
| Two entries from one grower: Georgia Pie placed 3rd and Sticky Buns 11th in sungrown flower | 2022 Emerald Cup results, reported by Cannabis Business Times18 |
Our lab numbers count only products labelled Georgia Pie; Sticky Buns is not matched.19
How indica is it?
Every source calls Georgia Pie a hybrid, but the lean depends on who is describing it. AllBud lists 60% indica / 40% sativa, SeedFinder calls it slightly indica-dominant, and Weedmaps, on its Sticky Buns page, calls it indica-dominant.1,2,5 Leafly gives no split but rates its effects mostly calming, and Zamnesia sells a 50/50 seed version.17,20 Of the parents, Leafly lists Kush Mints as 50/50 and rates Gelatti mostly calming.3,4
The original cut versus seed versions
SeedFinder says Seed Junky’s Georgia Pie was never available as feminized seeds, and that Seed Junky and Cookies guard their genetics so closely that real seeds or clones are hard to find.2 The Clone Foundry lists Georgia Pie clones on Leafly and credits the genetics to Seed Junky Genetics.21
SeedFinder lists three versions under the name: the Seed Junky original, never sold as feminized seed, and feminized lines from Raw Genetics (a Georgia Pie S1, the plant crossed with itself) and from Zamnesia, which says it tracked down and stabilized the Gelatti × Kush Mints lineage itself.2,20,22,23
What our lab data adds
We excluded 95 lab results across all product types (68 of them flower) that were sold under near-miss names.19 Among the 12 most frequent, 9 are crosses written with “x”, led by "Z x Georgia Pie" (5) and "Georgia Pie x Project 4516 Flower" (5).19 Breeders keep remixing it: Leafly’s 2023 HighLight names Georgia Pie x Z among the newest crosses, and SeedFinder lists Lit Farms’ Boston Cream Pie as Georgia Pie × Project 4516.2,7
